Afryea Henry-Fontaine is a multi-talented executive with over 12 years’ experience spanning artist & event management, brand consultancy and marketing. Working with iconic brands including MOBO, BET, Global Grind and Russell Simmons’ RUSH Communications, she has always been committed to pushing the boundaries of Black excellence. Having been at EMI Records for 8 years, Afryea has been at the helm of game changing campaigns for artists such as Krept & Konan, Migos, MoStack, Lethal Bizzle, Tory Lanez, Lil Baby and Kanye West. Most recently stepping up to Marketing Director for the newly launched Motown Records UK, Afryea is excited to bring British talent to this iconic Black label.
Following Black Out Tuesday in June, Afryea came together with Black music executives across the industry to form The Black Music Coalition, dedicated to eradicating racial injustice and establishing equity for Black executives across the industry. As co-chair of the UMG UK Task Force for Meaningful Change she is passionate about making culture shifting change from within and helping to impact the next generation throughout the community. In addition, last year alongside Char Grant and Komali Scott-Jones, Afryea launched The DeBrief - an initiative dedicated to celebrating and connecting Black women & women of colour across the music industry, connecting over 300 women through quarterly events, honouring amazing women such as Jade Richardson and Taponeswa Mavunga. Having recently become a mother, Afryea is even more committed to continue her ascent to the highest level.
